Cars with Trailer. From 15th November 2021 all category B licence holders were given the entitlement to tow trailers over 750kg. For tests passed from that date the entitlement will be automatically added to the licence. Any driver passing the category B test before that date should have the trailer entitlement added when they next transact with DVLA
Medium sized vehicles. For driving tests passed after 1.1.97. Lorries between 3500kg and 7500kg with a trailer up to 750kg.
Medium sized vehicles with a trailer. Lorries between 3500kg and 7500kg with a trailer over 750kg total weight not more than 12000kg.
Large Vehicles. Vehicles over 7500kg with a trailer up to 750kg.
Large Vehicles with trailer. Vehicles over 7500kg with a trailer over 750kg.
Minibuses. Vehicles between 9 and 16 passenger seats with a trailer up to 750kg.
Minibuses with trailer. Vehicles between 9 and 16 passenger seats with a trailer over 750kg. The combination weight must not exceed 12000kg and the MAM of the trailer most not exceed the unladen weight of the towing vehicle.
Buses. Any bus with more than 16 passenger seats with a trailer up to 750kg.
