Theory Tests

Module 1

Before your driving test can be booked you must pass the two tests in Module 1:
  • Multiple Choice Theory Test
  • Hazard Perception Test
To prepare for these you should order:
  • The Official DVSA Theory Test for Drivers of Large vehicle (book or DVD - CD ROM)
  • The Official DVSA Guide to Hazard Perception (DVD - CD ROM)
Module 2 CPC Case Study Test

If the vehicle you will be driving is being used for hire and reward you may also have to pass the Module 2 CPC Case Study Test. This module has to be passed before the Module 4 CPC Practical Demonstration Test can be booked.  
To prepare for this you should order:

For PCV:
  • Driver CPC the Official DVSA Guide for Professional Bus and Coach Drivers (book)

Practical Tests
Module 3a Off Road Test

The training and test for this part is carried out by us at our DVSA Approved Site.
The test involves demonstrating your ability to reverse on an S shaped course, and in the case of tests with a trailer, you must also demonstrate your ability to uncouple and recouple the trailer safely.

When you attend your Module 3a test appointment you must have the following documents with you:
  • Driving Licence
  • Module 1 Theory and Hazard Perception Certificates, if applicable
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TEST CANNOT BE CONDUCTED IF YOU ATTEND WITHOUT THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS AND YOU WILL LOSE THE TEST FEE

On successful completion of the test you will receive a Module 3a test pass certificate, which must be presented to the DVSA Driving Examiner when you attend your 3b On Road Driving Test. 

Module 3b On Road Driving Test

We will book the Module 3b driving test on your behalf and on the day of the test you will receive a pre-test lesson to get you "warmed up" and prepared for the examiner's assessment of your driving ability. 

When you attend your Module 3b test appointment you must have the following documents with you: 
  • Driving Licence
  • Module 1 Theory and Hazard Perception Test Certificates, if applicable 
  • Module 3a Test Certificate
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE TEST CANNOT BE CONDUCTED IF YOU ATTEND WITHOUT THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS AND YOU WILL LOSE THE TEST FEE

The test consists of:
  • Show and tell questions
  • A 60 minute drive over a variety of road and traffic conditions
On successful completion of the test you will receive a Module 3b test pass certificate. If you are retaining your driving licence in order to take another test or for personal reasons you will need to send this certificate together with your current driving licence to DVLA so that the new category can be added. Please be aware of the time limit (on the back of the certificate) to do this or you will need to resit the tests again.

Module 4 CPC Practical Demonstration Test
We will book the Module 4 CPC test on your behalf once you have passed the Module 2 CPC Case Study Test.  The test will last 30 minutes and you will be asked to demonstrate and explain how you would deal with different tasks and situations which may crop up during your working day. These areas will have been covered during the training.

The test has five topic areas and in order to pass you must achieve an overall pass mark of 80% as well as achieving at least 75% in each of the topics.

When you attend the Module 4 CPC Test you must have the following documents with you:
  • Driving Licence
  • Module 2 CPC Case Study Certificate
